Coir roll matting – Coir fibers, called coir roll mats, provide soil stabilization and support along riverbanks, slopes, streams, hillsides and other areas subject to erosion. Offers a high level of strength and reinforcement. The densely packed coconut fibers of the mattress are enclosed in a tubular net of coconut yarn. Parts of coconut mats are natural and biodegradable. It is able to control erosion and is environmentally friendly.
Coir roll mats use natural or synthetic materials to control soil erosion and improve building and vegetation growth. Coir rolls are temporary or permanent products installed in areas subject to deterioration. These products include erosion control mats, nets, perforated fabrics and grass mats. Coconut roll mats are placed after site preparation, planting, digging, rolling and spreading. Once laid, coir rolls stabilize problem areas, slow runoff, reduce soil erosion and promote vegetation growth.
Its design solves the problem where soil erosion is inevitable on bare ground. Yet vegetation alone cannot prevent soil erosion. These products are available in weaves such as coir or jute fiber carpets that are mechanically sewn to one or two natural or synthetic stitches. These products prevent erosion and keep the seeds on the slope or channel until the vegetation germinates. They prevent soil erosion, after which these products are subjected to biological degradation. There are several aspects to consider when choosing a coconut roll.
Cor Roll Matting Control Considerations:
Water flow and shear stress in the channel
This data is much more difficult to calculate. It depends on many aspects and is usually best calculated by your plumbing engineer when developing a rainwater program for the job.
Coir roll matting takes time for selected vegetation to take root
Grasses generally take less time to grow than heat-loving grasses, legumes or woody shrubs found in a unique seed mix. You want to choose a cover that will prevent erosion until these plants reach maturity and provide biomass to prevent decay.
Refinement of the vegetation area with coconut fiber mats
Coir geotextiles products affect vegetation formation in a number of ways, including moisture-holding capacity, the soil’s need for biodegradable mats or meshes, and light penetration. A lighter mattress lets in more sunlight, encouraging faster seed germination. But it is also less effective at protecting against erosion. In that case, you may want to choose a tested carpet that meets your site’s specific needs rather than cover the job to the brim. In addition, some matrix materials need nitrogen from the soil (wood) for biodegradation. In contrast, others have high nitrogen availability (wheat straw from agriculture).
